Recently I’ve taken to having a herbal tea in the evening. The other night I noticed that the little paper label at the end of the bit of string had an inspirational motto on it. Imagine my surprise when I found, “The one who walks in a gentle way comes far”! With a bit of searching around on the Internet I have found there are a number of other people online who are a fan of this saying too!
It is a bit like the hare and the tortoise – that the person who walks little and often will go a long way. I thought it would be good to share this saying on the blog!
Of course you can use the Walk4Life website to see just how far “a long way” is over time, by clicking off all the routes you have walked. If you are building up the distances you can do because you’re recovering from an operation or another health issue, then gentle walking is the ideal exercise – it is natural, and you’re unlikely to injure yourself!
All you need is a pair of shoes and a front door!
